From 10 am to 4 pm, Ponca City’s Petsense is hosting their largest ever adoption event on Sat., May 20. This event will provide all day fun for all ages as they host several different and exciting opportunities for the people of Ponca City to experience.

Throughout the day they will be hosting Northern Oklahoma Humane Society, Oklahoma Exotics Rescue and Sanctuary, and PAW First Rescue. These three agencies will be bring pets of all kinds for people to potentially find their new best friend. From the kinds with scales to the more common furry friends, there will be options for every kind of pet person.

Many local vendors have agreed to participate in the adoption event as well, so there will be shopping and fun activities planned at the booths. Even the Oklahoma Aquarium Club is coming to educate people on how to care for different aquatic pets. They can help those with pets of this kind with feeding, cleaning, what can be added to their tanks, etc. On top of that, there will be a scavenger hunt throughout the day for kids of all ages to explore the festival and become pet experts. The first 25 to solve the pet parenting quiz get a sticker and a sweet prize. There will be delicious treats from food and drink vendors Nova Coffee, Shepherd’s Frozen Grind, and Cubby’s BBQ!

During this event there will be open mic karaoke for everyone as well! Those in attendance will have the option to show of their skills by performing their favorite songs to the crowd. It is under good authority that members of the Northern Oklahoma Music Department will be attending to perform a few of their own songs at the open mic.

From 11 am to 1 pm, the lifesaving Air Evac team is bringing their helicopter to have a meet and greet with those in attendance. People will have an opportunity to meet and snap a picture with the hardworking and brave members of Air Evac and the helicopter.

From 11 am to 2 pm, the New Life Trails Petting Zoo will be in attendance with different members of their own animal team. From horses to bunnies and chickens, the New Life Trails Petting Zoo has a number of animals for people to meet and spend time with.

At 2 pm, those in attendance can bid for their favorite locally donated items to help raise money for Ponca City’s local shelters. Businesses from around town have donated prizes and special guest May Homer Nicholson is leading the raffle! Petsense posted a sneak peek of a few of the items donated for the auction from McGee Jewelers, Frocks and Fashions, and Shanghai Music and they look amazing!

The most important part of this entire event is that the people that are apart of it are showing their support and working so hard to help the pets from these rescues find their forever families.
