Miss Suzi’s Singing School presents The Big Bad Trial

The public is cordially invited to Miss Suzi’s Singing School 41st Annual Recital on Tuesday, May 30 at 6:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 6th and Central. The event is free and child care is provided for children 3 and under.

There will be a “Pre-Play Skit” done by the Primary Singers: The Wide Mouthed Frog by Keith Faulkner.

Narrator-Michael Seaton, Wide Mouthed Frog-Ariel Roy, Blue Feathered Bird-Arnold Roy, Brown Mouse-Ema Roy, Alligator-Komal Rapeti and the Fly-Corbin Brown.

The Big, Bad Trial is an original play written, choreographed and directed by Mallory Stolhand, 2022 graduate from Epic Schools. The cast includes: Taylee Slavin as the Wolf, Frankie Diaz as Jafar, Jaelyn Stolhand as Little Red, Lennon Shearer plays Robin Hood, and Reese Jenkins plays Little John. The Three Little Pigs are played by Lilyan Wyckoff, Aizlyn Swartz and Kinzey Burr. The Jury includes: Zac Rodriquez-Captain Hook, Michael Seaton-Gaston, Annabelle Shelton-Cruella, Komal Rapeti-Lord Farquaad, Claire Davis-Snow White, Kasha Slavin-Alice in Wonderland, Ariel Roy-Arora and Brynn Liberton-Tinker Bell and Granny. The Judge/ Fairy Godmother is Jhansi Rapeti.

The music for the play includes: ”Who’s Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf,” “Trust in Me,” “How Bad Can I Be,” “ Razzle Dazzle,” “Hello Little Girl,” “I Know Things Now,” “Mister Cellophane,” “Who I’d Be,” and “This Is Our Story.” Connie Van Ausdall is the accompanist for the play.

The 2nd part of the recital will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will feature vocal solos, duets, as well as piano solos. Vocal Soloists include: Kathy Brockhoff, Kinzey Burr, Abby Davis, Frankie Diaz, Reese Jenkins, Kylie Kozarevich, Jhansi Rapeti, Zac Rodriguez, Annabell Shelton, Kasha Slavin, Taylee Slavin, Jaelyn Stolhand, Lilyan Wyckoff and Emma Young. Vocal duet participants include: Frankie Diaz and Jaelyn Stolhand, Taylee Slavin and Lennon Shearer, Reese Jenkins and Annabell Shelton, and Kinzey Burr and Kasha Slavin. Accompanist for the vocal solos and duets will be Connie Van Ausdall, adjunct faculty at Northern Oklahoma College and Pat Purkey, Director of Music, Albright United Methodist Church.

Piano soloists include Emma Young, Maddy Stone, Aizlyn Swartz, Lilyan Wyckoff, Kyle Mears and Frankie Diaz. Guitar solo: Jhansi Rapeti 1st Gold Cups recipients: Frankie Diaz, Music Theater Solo and Lilyan Whckoff, Piano Solo . To receive a 1st Gold Cup, a student must have participated in Jr Music Festival for a minimum of 3 years in that specific event.

2nd Gold Cups recipients: Frankie Diaz, Piano Solo, Jaelyn Stolhand, Art Song Solo and Music Theater Solo. To receive a 2nd Gold Cup, a student must have participated in Jr Music Festival for a minimum of 6 years in that specific event.

3rd Gold Cup Recipient: Abby Davis, Music Theater Solo. To receive a 3rd Gold Cup, a student must have participated in Jr Music Festival for a minimum of 9 years in that specific event.

Suzi Lenhart has been teaching piano and voice lessons and music classes in Ponca City for 41 years. She currently also teaches guitar and ukulele lessons and looks forward to once again to be teaching home school classes for singing and recorder or guitar. Miss Suzi plans to have a baby-Mom class and as well as classes for toddlers through High school.
