Charles Keith Gilbert and Iva Marie (Prilliman) joined in marriage on Easter Sunday, April 5, 1953 at the First Christian Church in Lamont, OK.

Following Keith’s honorable service in the United States Army, Keith and Iva became active members of the Tonkawa, OK community. Thus began the couple’s lifelong history of farming, raising a family, membership at the First Christian Church of Tonkawa, and many other praiseworthy contributions to their surrounding area.

At one point in time, Keith and Iva Gilbert had productive wheat farming and livestock ranching operations spanning over 900 acres in Kay and Grant counties. In addition to agricultural activities, Keith taught high school Industrial Arts classes for many years in the region. A devoted homemaker, Iva has worked retail sales and numerous volunteer/charity events.

They successfully raised three children on their working family farm; David Gilbert of Carbondale IL, Christi (Gilbert) Stinchcomb of Allen TX, & Katrina (Gilbert) Ruggs of Stillwater OK.

Their children’s marriages produced seven grandchildren to include; Kara (Gilbert) Weshinskey, Keith Gilbert, Garrett Stinchcomb, Trent Stinchcomb, Kyle Ruggs, Blake Ruggs, & Wylie Ruggs.

Their most recent family additions include two great-grandchildren; Kylie Marie Weshinskey & Patrick Paul Stinchcomb.

Retired from farming since 2017, Keith and Iva Gilbert now enjoy special visits and the company of family and friends.
