From April 13 through April 16, the Evans Children’s Academy knocked the socks off the crowd during their showing of the Disney movie turned musical, Moana Jr.

The Disney film Moana was released in 2016 and soon after, the musical adaptation, Moana Jr., was released. Moana Jr. features songs from Tony, Grammy, Emmy, and Pulitzer Prize winning composer Lin-Manuel Miranda, Opetaia Foa’i, and Marck Mancina. This comingof- age story follows the adventures of Moana as she sets out on an adventure that will change the life of not only her, but everyone around her. Moana sets sail across the Pacific to save her village by finding the demigod Maui and enlisting his help for her mission to restore the heart of Te Fiti. Together they embark on a journey of self-discovery and friendship as they both learn that the power that they need has been inside them all along.

The performers, director, and all the people behind the scenes worked incredibly hard to put together a truly amazing performance. From the set to the talent showed during the scenes, it is clear that this gifted group of people put their all into this musical.

The Evans Children’s Academy season is coming to an end for this year, but there is still one show left that you will not want to miss. Evans Children’s Academy is taking on Newsies From July 7 trough July 9 and July 14 through July 16.

Newsies, based on the newsboy strike of 1899 and later made into a Disney classic in 1992, is a favorite for many in the musical theatre world. Make sure you check out the Evans Children’’s Academy’s rendition of the show that took Broadway by storm in July.
