The family of R.L. (Joe) Locker will be holding a 90th birthday celebration at the Elks Lodge, 3612 Lake Road, on Wednesday, the 18th of September at 5:30 p.m. The celebration is open to the public.

Locker was born an in Meridian, TX, as the only child of Raford and Minnie Locker. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1947, and continued his education while working and raising two daughters after serving in the US Army during the Korean War, graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Texas Christian University.

He started working for CONOCO in Fort Worth, TX, then transferred to Ponca City to work in the Accounting Department. He took early retirement at age 55 in 1985.

He and his late wife, Jean (Tucker) Locker were married 48 years after being wed in Waco, TX, in March, 1953. They have two children: Brenda Rziha, of Ponca City, and Jan Gose (Ted) of Tulsa.

Grandchildren include Miranda Adkins, Sean Gose, Whitney Wakefield, Amanda Hobson, Danielle Gose. Great-grandchildren include Dalton Wells, Emary Hobson, Addy Hobson, and he will have a great-great-grandchild that’s due to be born February 1st, 2020.
