Four runners earn medals
MIDWEST CITY — Ponca City runners participated in the annual Carl Albert Titan Cross Country Individual Meet Friday and four runners earned medals.
Finishing 15th in the seventh grade girls race was Jaycee Davis. Callie Jo Vanhoesen was 14th in the eighth grade girls race, Julia Looper was 19th in the eighth grade girls race and A. J. Landes was 20th ion the eighth grade boys race.
The Ponca City varsity boys finished 20 in the team competition, the Ponca City junior varsity boys were 20th, the seventh grade girls were 12th, the eight grade girls were 8th; the seventh grade boys were 7th and the eighth grade boys were 16th.
“It was a hot day and this meet was very big,” Ponca CIty Coach Wendy Landes said. “We had to overcome a great deal of adversity to compete. We are going to keep moving forward getting better weekly.”
