Sep. 29--NORMAN -- In the locker room, his team leading 21-7 at halftime Saturday, OU defensive coordinator Alex Grinch talked to his team about the way the Sooners’ last two Big 12 home games finished.

On Wednesday 9/23/2020 at approximately 23:45 hours, the Osage County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of a non responsive male subject at a residence located by Bartlesville, in Osage County. Deputies responded along with Bartlesville EMS and Bartles ville Police Department. The victim, identified as Ryan Brown, was pronounced dead on scene. This is an ongoing investigation where foul play is suspected. If anyone has any information please contact the Osage County Sheriff’s Office at 918-287-3535.

In her 2018 book, “Fascism: A Warning,” former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, herself a refugee from totalitarians, cautioned that it is hubris at best and delusion at worst to imagine that fascism of the sort that ascended to power in 1930s Europe couldn’t do the same here. The book was released two years into Donald Trump’s presidency, and the ugly outlines of fascism were already discernible in Trump’s conduct. Hitler, Albright wrote, “lied incessantly about himself and about his enemies.” He duped millions of Germans into thinking that he “cared for them deeply when, in fact, he would have sacrificed them all.” He strove to nullify limits on his power. He exhorted his supporters to harm his political opponents and delighted in the suffering of his victims.

GLENPOOL -- The Ponca City Lady Cats never got on track Monday night as they dropped a 10-0 softball decision to Glenpool. The first inning was scoreless, but the Glenpool scored two runs in the second inning, three runs in the third and five in the fourth.

Disturbance— An officer responded to the 500 block of Foster on Monday at 1:48 a.m. in reference to someone hearing a window broken. An officer arrived and it was determined that the resident of the home had locked herself inside of her child’s bedroom and had to break the window. A report was taken.

Dear Annie: Almost four years ago, I had a double mastectomy, and five months prior to that, a complete hysterectomy! Over time, I have had 19 surgeries. Needless to say, I haven’t felt very good about myself. In fact, I’ve felt pretty low more times than I can count.

By nominating Federal Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court, Donald Trump kept his word, and more than that. Should she be confirmed, he will have made history.
