Recognize signs of heart attack in women

Body
Many people are familiar with the image of a heart attack sufferer clutching his or her chest or feeling surprising, tingling sensations in his or her left arm. While those symptoms are common, heart attacks can produce a wide array of symptoms, and some of them may actually be much less apparent than chest pain or tingling in the left arm. That’s especially so for women.

American adults’ hearts are much older than they should be

Body
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the average adult in the United States has a heart that is seven years older than it should be. “Heart age” is a metric used by the CDC to determine if an individual is at greater risk for heart disease than they should be at any given point during their adults lives. Factors such as body mass index (BMI), blood pressure, whether or not a person smokes or has smoked in the past, and if that person has diabetes all help to determine heart age. The CDC indicates that millions of people in their 40s and 50s who live in the United States have high blood pressure and more than 35 million U.S. adults are current smokers. Those variables increase heart age, making individuals more vulnerable to heart disease even in middle-age. Individuals interested in getting an estimate of their heart age can visit the Heart Foundation at heartfoundation. org.au/heart-age-calculator. Adults also are urged to speak with their physicians about their risk for heart disease and what they can do to lower that risk.

Wildcat of the Week Brynn Crandall

Body
The Heather Cannon Wildcat of the Week #14 for the 20222023 school year was presented to Po-Hi senior Brynn Crandall. “Brynn is a very active and a very driven student,” said PCPS Superintendent Shelley Arrott. “As a senior, she is only enrolled in 3 courses at Po-Hi and is enrolled in 4 courses of concurrent enrollment and attends both the University Center in Ponca City and Northern Oklahoma College in Tonkawa. At Po-Hi she is enrolled in Po-Hi Steppers, Agricultural Leadership, and Girls Tennis, so her required English as a senior is through concurrent enrollment. In addition, Brynn is a member of the National Honor Society. She has always put forth her best effort and has made exemplary grades throughout her school years. Her discipline in doing whatever it takes to excel in school or in her extracurricular activities has always been a top priority for her. The work she submits is of the highest quality and she strives to improve in all her activities. Brynn is an allaround wonderful student and is very goal driven, but what sets Brynn apart from other students is her positive attitude.”

A Left 4 Dead retrospective

Body
Comically Serious I’ve been playing video games for as long as I can remember. I grew up in the 90s during the height of consoles like the Super Nintendo, Nintendo 64, the original Playstation and the Sega Dreamcast, plus a myriad of games I was able to play at the arcade (an experience I really miss).
