Donna Mae Cooper, age 85, resident of Ponca City, Oklahoma, passed away January 1, 2024, at her home.

A memorial ceremony will be held January 26, 2024, at 3:00 PM, at Longwood Cemetery, with Pastor Don Stanton officiating.

Donna Mae Smart was born on December 30th, 1938, to James L. Smart and Clara Della (Burchett) in Boydsville, AR. She married Walter Allen Cooper on January 19, 1965 in Newkirk, OK and to this union, had three children, Walter Jr., Tara, and LaDella. She worked as a nurses aide and at Southwest Cupid in Blackwell for several years.

She always had a smile and told it as she seen it. She was generous, and always gave to all.

She is survived by her husband Walter Allen Cooper Sr.; son Walter A. Cooper Jr. of Ponca City, OK; daughters Tara Burr and husband Mike of Ponca City, OK, and LaDella Lyon and husband Mark of Bartlesville, OK; four grandkids, Brooke Haskins and fiancé Dusty Reenie of Pond Creek, OK, Garrett Haskins of Braman, OK, Jaron and Kayla Dowell of Stillwater, OK, and Justin and Emily Dowell of Owasso, OK; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents James and Clara Smart; her brothers Leon, Enos, and Donal Smart; and sisters Grace King and Juanita Creasey.
