Our fellowship witnessed an example of love for family last Sunday morning at our worship service. One of our church members was celebrating her first birthday after the recent loss of her husband. I am sure there will be many more first in her life, however, to have a large majority of her family come and attend worship service prior to enjoying a day of making more memories was an example others should follow. The love and support this family exemplify for their matriarch is something that continues to define what being a part of the family of God is all about. All throughout Jesus’ ministry from an early age Jesus challenges his followers to remember the priorities of love for their life. First, love the Lord thy God. Second, love others despite their faults. Lastly, love yourself by placing your dependence upon the Lord’s guidance for each day of life you are blessed with. It doesn’t matter which church you attend, remember that the church isn’t a building, but it consists of people who what to share the love of God through Jesus Christ our Lord. It is so important that you align yourself with a body of believers who show Christian love in all their undertakings. One of the greatest teachings of Jesus is found in Matthew 25:35-40 (NIV).
