New Life Trails will be partnering with Grand Mental Health and Camp McFadden this year to provide the use of eight of their horses for the children attending the camp.

Camp McFadden is a summer camp for boys and girls between the ages of 10 to 12-years old. The children currently at the camp are clients of Grand Mental Health from five different counties including Kay, Payne, Osage, Noble, and Pawnee Counties with five boys and five girls from each county.

The camp itself is located approximately ten miles east of Ponca City and features 250 acres of woods, hills and ponds that overlook the west shore of Kaw Lake.

New Life Trails took their horse to the walk the camp’s trails on Tuesday night to acclimate the horses to them. New Life Trails brought there horses to camp on Wednesday, June 21 for the camp goers to enjoy.

New Life Trails founder, Deborah Renee Spears, expressed enthusiasm for offering the horses for use at the camp, as the mission statement of the New Life Trails is to partner with animals to reach the hearts of people, and to intervene emotionally, socially, and academically.
