Greetings from Burbank. We are a community that begs to be discovered. Burbank has a wonderful history. Many families have attended the old Burbank school. Every year they still have an alumnus gathering. People come from everywhere you can imagine renewing friendships. Burbank First Baptist Church has the same rich tradition. Many families have passed through the door of our quint small church. On November 11, 1932, the church met in conference to secure a building to house a church. A building was purchased from Apperson School Board and was moved onto the lots that had been purchased. This is our current location today. In the afternoon of June 6, 1936, a tornado swept through Burbank demolishing homes, businesses, buildings, and claiming one life. First Baptist Church of Burbank was one of the buildings that was destroyed. A parsonage was severely damaged. On June 17, 1936, the church had been rebuilt with the assistance of church families. On September 10, 2000, a Ground-Breaking Cemetery was held for a Fellowship Hall. It was completed in 2002 and was debt free in 2004. We offer Sunday school classes before our Worship service. The Sunday school attendance isn’t great. Our Worship services can run from 25 to 50 on any given Sunday. The promise I have always made to people is that the doors are always open to all who will come. We have had people attend from the Methodist faith, Catholic faith, Presbyterian faith, and what I will call non-Denominational faith. As Burbank’s Pastor, I minister to the entire community and in several surrounding communities. It truly is a blessing to experience Christ’s love in our fellowship. If you are looking for a church home and do not mind the small drive, you are most welcome. God bless your spiritual journey.
