Neal Arthur Onstot was born on April 13, 1930 in Arkansas City, Kansas. He was the only child of Audrey and Charles Onstot. After a brief illness, Neal passed away peacefully at Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital on June 16, 2022, with his family by his side.

He grew up in Ponca City, Oklahoma and graduated from Ponca City High School where he was a member of the football team.

Neal attended Oklahoma State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Commerce. He was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Neal married his high school sweetheart, Charlene Fronkier, in December 1951. After graduation in 1952, he served in the United States Air Force as a 2nd Lt. during the Korean War.

In 1954, Neal began working for Conoco in the Coordinating and Planning Department in Houston. From 1956-1961 he continued working in the same department but in New York City. In 1961, he returned to Houston and began working in the Marketing Department of Conoco until his retirement in 1986.

After retirement, Neal enjoyed playing tennis, reading, traveling, and watching old movies. He also enjoyed watching all the Stratford Playhouse productions for the past thirty years.

Neal was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Rachel and Michael. He is survived by Charlene, his wife of seventy years; his daughters Renee Clark and her husband Scott of Tuscola, Texas; Jamie Tharpe of Houston; and Courtney (CeCe) Prudhomme and her husband Thomas of Houston. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Brett Tharpe, Veronica Clark, Matthew Prudhomme, and Zachary Prudhomme.

Contributions in Neal’s memory may be made to the Stratford Playhouse Booster Club (for a scholarship) at 14027 Memorial Drive #181 Houston, TX 77079 or to the charity of your choice. A memorial service will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home 13001 Katy Freeway, Houston, TX 77079 on Friday, July 15, 2022 at 10:30 am with a reception to follow.
