BARTLESVILLE -- The Ponca City Wildcats boys varsity basketball team is scheduled to participate in this year’s Conoco-Phillips/ Arvest Bank Invitational Tournament in Bartlesville.

On Thursday, the opening day, Ponca City is scheduled to play Bartlesville at 8:30 p.m. Other teams in the tournament include Hirschi, Texas, Midwest City Carl Albert, Bixby, Southmore, Stillwater and Millwood.

Three of the teams have been ranked in the Top 10 in their respective classes. They are Bixby and Southmoore in Class 6A and Carl Albert in 5A.

Should Ponca City defeat Bartlesville, they would play the winner of the Hirschi-Carl Albert game on Friday. A loss Thursday would send the Wildcats to the consolation bracket for a game against the loser of Hirschi-Carl Albert.

Ponca City will go into the event with a 2-6 record.

Ponca City-Bartlesville winner vs. Carl Albert-Hirischi winner, 8:30 p.m.

Seventh place, 11:30 a.m. Fifth place, 2:30 p.m. Third place, 5:30 p.m. Championship, 8:30 p.m.
