Oklahoma High School bowlers competed in one of five regional tournaments Feb. 18. The Ponca City High School bowling teams competed at the regional tournament held at AMF Windsor Lanes in Oklahoma City. There were a total of five boys teams and four girls teams vying for the top two spots to advance to the State tournament being held on Saturday, Feb. 25.

The teams completed eight baker style games to determine seeding. After the seeding, the teams competed in match play with the best three out of five games determining the winner of each round.

The Ponca City boys were in fourth after the seeding round; however, they fell to Putnam City West during the match play, ending their chance to qualify for the State tournament. The Ponca City girls, who were the 2022 State champions, were in first after the seeding round. They won the match play against Tonkawa 3-0 to advance against Bethany 3-0.

The Ponca City Girls again placed first in the regional tournament and will be advancing to the State tournament to be held at Oakwood Bowl in Enid.
