Teresa left her garden on January 1, 2023.

Teresa was born May 1, 1942 in Ponca City, OK. She was the eldest Twin daughter of Wayne and Delores (Thomas) Kothe. Grandparents were Harry and Ethel (Looper) Kothe; Charles Thomas and Mary (Gilbert) Roesner.

Teresa had a career as Tax Specialist for the U.S. Treasury Department and worked in computer operation at Conoco Inc. She continued in that field with her own business as a Tax Specialist Consultant.

She also served as President of Reif Educational Systems Inc.

She attended night school at South Oklahoma City Junior College, Oscar Rose State College, Oklahoma State College, and The University of Oklahoma. After years of dedication, at the age of 51, she earned her Bachelors Degree in business management and in Accounting at the University of Oklahoma.

In 1982 she announced her candidacy for the new Oklahoma District 53 State Representative seat.

She was also a Member of the Congressional Affairs committee and the Economic Development Committee for the Moore Chamber of Commerce. She has also served on the Cleveland County Road and Bridge Advisory Committee, the Cleveland County Free Fair Committee and Democratic Women of Cleveland county. She served on the Cleveland County Country Family “Y” Capital Fund Program.

Teresa also had a campaign to run for District 1 Cleveland County Commissioner.

She also enjoyed raising various animals from sheep to peacocks to cattle and pigs. She also enjoyed the Art of Genealogy.

Teresa’s main passion was gardening. She turned her backyard from rubbish to resplendence. Her Backyard Oasis earned Honor of selection to be featured in the 11th annual Miller in May Home & Garden Tour. Her backyard orchard produced an abundance of fruits. “I have to Pick them constantly.” She said. Unless the gardens inhabitants; Squirrels: beat her to the produce. “I lecture them, but they just ignore me,” Teresa also says she isn’t the only one who calls this her favorite spot. “My Grandchildren want to be Married Here.”

Teresa spent her final years living with her Eldest Son Lance and wife Jackie at their home in Newalla.

Her parents, grandparents, brother, Sidney Kothe and sister Lu Skillern-Keller, preceded her in death.

She is survived by a Twin Sister Karen Kothe King McKenney; a brother, Larry Kothe and Margie; Three Sons Lance and Jackie Bohon, Mark and Jami Bohon, and Brian and Candy Wilson, 9 Grandchildren, 17 Great-Grandchildren, Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at Burbank Cemetery 11:00am January 14th, 2023. Pastor Matt Hardin presiding.
