Patricia Louise (Sawyer) Lockhart, 73, of Newkirk left this life on February 18th, 2022 at her residence.

A celebration of life will be at the Kanza Gymnasium in Newkirk on Sunday, March 27th from 1-3.

Pat was born on February 19th, 1948 in Blackwell, OK to Eugene & Louise Sawyer. She grew up in Blackwell and graduated from Blackwell High School. After graduating Pat was a homemaker until she started her career at the Kay County Courthouse in 1981. She started in the Kay County Treasurer’s office and later moved to work for the Kay County Clerk’s office as the Payroll Clerk. She retired from the Kay County Clerk’s office in March of 2011.

In her down time, you could catch her reading any of Danielle Steel’s books. She was an avid movie collector. She enjoyed cross-stitch and was always making an afghan for one of her grandchildren. Pat was also known as quite the bargain shopper.

Patricia is survived by one brother Gary Sawyer (Denise) of Blackwell, one daughter Connie Simpson (Clint Banister) of Newkirk, one son Jerry Smith of Blackwell & 6 grandchildren, Amy Simpson (Jesse) of Newkirk, Tiffany Smith-Grey of Sand Springs, Janell Leaming (Colton) of Newkirk, Justin Smith of Newkirk, Alex Dickinson (Scooter) of Wellington, KS & Samantha Simpson of Newkirk, 12 great grandchildren and her caretaker for the last 2 years, Kelly Smith.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jesse, her parents Eugene & Louise Sawyer and one great grandson Ethan Harader.
