Laura Jolene Vessels, born Laura Jolene Hall in 1939 , passed away at the age of 82 in California on October 29th 2021. She died peacefully in her sleep having lead a very full and event filled life.

After graduating first from Del City High and then from Whittier Business College she was married to Ron Emshoff and moved to California where she had a son.

Her Marriage to Ron ended shortly after and she became the sole support for her son and herself. She did some swim suit modeling in Los Angeles then moved to the Sacramento area where she worked as a bank teller for a time.

Through her knowledge of accounting, her meticulous mind, her strong will, and strict adherence to her values of hard work and tenacity she quickly rose to become the very first woman to be named controller in the banking industry. It was at this time that she met the man she would marry and be with for the rest of her life, Richard Lyle Vessels.

As the savings and loan business struggled she moved on to a construction company and finally into the world of car dealerships. She was highly respected and very well known in the industry as the best person to call if you had money leaking from your company. She could always find where the money was going.

From the time she was a little girl she loved horses. She bought some land in California and started a breeding facility turning out some very beautiful and prize winning animals.

She leaves behind one sister, Belva, who still lives in Ponca City as do several nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind a son, Kevin, and daughter in law Cecilia, Four grandchildren, one great grandson, and many, many people who knew and loved her.

A memorial was held at her Horse Ranch in on May 14th at 1pm.

She was loved by an awful lot of people. She will be missed.
