Juanita Marie Barthel passed on March 4, 2022 at Christus Trinity Mother Francis Hospital in Tyler, Texas, at the age of 71. She was born to A. H. “Pete” and Marie Long on September 1, 1950, at the Ponca City Hospital in Ponca City, Oklahoma. She grew up in Ponca City, was married to Harlen Barthel in 1974 and together moved to Edmond, Oklahoma in December of 1978. In March of 1981, their son, Christopher Aron Barthel, was born.

She was preceded in death by both parents and two brothers, Wayne and Adelbert Long, Jr. A third brother, Larry Long, is still living in Fayetteville, AR, with his wife, Nancy.

Other surviving family members include two grandchildren, Caroline and Lincoln Barthel, daughter and son of Christopher who live at Holly Lake Ranch, Texas. Other nephews include Troy and Brady Long whose families live here in the United States, Allan Long and his family who live in Germany and niece Kathy Long and her family, who also lives in Germany.

Per Juanita’s wishes, there will be no service. She was cremated and placement of her ashes will be determined later.
