Irene Faye Marshall, formerly of Braman, Oklahoma, died March 21, 2023, at Homestead Assisted Living in Wellington, Kansas, at the age of 92 years.

Irene Faye Marshall was born on June 15, 1930, in Blackwell, Oklahoma, to Theo M. “Ted” and Ella M. (Quade) Kelle. She was baptized on August 3, 1930, in St. John’s Lutheran Church. She grew up on a farm east of Blackwell and attended Pleasant Valley School and Blackwell High School graduating with the class of 1948. While in school she was confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church on June 20, 1943. She married Robert J. Marshall on October 15, 1955, at her parent’s home in Blackwell. She worked as a clerk for S. H. Kress Department Store, an operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone company and as a motel receptionist at the Village Service Area. She was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church and also held membership in the Friendly Neighbor Extension Homemakers. The hobby bringing her the greatest joy was piecing together quilts. She had pieced together more than 50 quilts over the years for family members.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Marshall of Wellington, Kansas; two daughters, Shirley Wilson of Wichita, Kansas, and Kathy Warren of Yukon, Oklahoma; two sons, Darrell Marshall of Braman and Rodney Marshall of Dixon, Missouri; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Wilbert Kelle; and a sister, Lucille Goss.

Services are scheduled for 10:30 am, Tuesday, March 28th in the St. John’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Mark Mozeik officiating. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery in South Haven, Kansas.

Visitation will be on Monday, March 27th from 1:00 pm – 7:00 pm at Roberts and Son Funeral Home in Blackwell. The family will be present at visitation from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

Casketbearers will be grandsons, Christopher Warren, Daniel Wilson, Michael Long, Andy Marshall, Barrett Jackson and Joseph Farris.

A memorial has been established in her honor with St. John’s Lutheran Church, 1998 North S Street, Ponca City, Oklahoma 74601.
