Carla Arrington, 68, and Gerald Arrington, 70, passed away together on April 3rd, 2023 in Owasso, Oklahoma, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion to each other and their family.

Carla, born on October 13th, 1954, in Ark City, Kansas to Helen Fleenor and Marvin Pappan. She was a devoted Conoco Philips employee for over 40 years until her retirement in 2016. She had a passion for helping others and was always eager to share her love of baking to family and friends. Carla would write handwritten cards for every occasion and sometimes “just because”. She cherished her friends and old coworkers and made it a point to stay connected over the years.

Gerald, born on January 8th, 1953, attended Oklahoma State Institute of Technology in Okmulgee. He worked various jobs in the manufacturing industry over the years including Smith Gruners, Mertz, Nichols Manufacturing and Cameron Industries in Ponca City and Zeeco in Broken Arrow. He retired in 2018. He enjoyed spending time with the grandkids, and was always there to lend a helping hand when needed. He frequently dropped everything to help a neighbor or his daughter’s next house project. He loved animals and babied his Goldendoodle Charlie.

Together, Carla and Gerald created a beautiful life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. They were married for 49 years, and their love and commitment to each other was an inspiration to all who knew them. They are survived by their two children, Jared Arrington and his wife Niki of Edmond, OK and Alison Forsythe of Owasso, OK; Carla’s sister Janice Inskeep and husband Keith of Tuttle, OK; Gerald’s brother Kevin Arrington and wife Laura of Ponca City, OK; grandchildren Gaby and Brooks Arrington of Edmond, OK; Carter and Reid Forsythe of Owasso, OK. Their memory will be forever cherished by their family and all who knew them. Preceded in death were Carla’s parents, Helen and Lacy Fleenor of Ponca City, OK, her father Marvin Pappan of Kaw City, OK and Gerald’s parents Earline and Vernon Arrington of Ponca City, OK. A celebration of their lives was held on April 13th at 2:00PM at First Baptist Church in Owasso, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Owasso Humane Society and to the Friends of the Tulsa City-County Libraries. May their souls rest in peace, and may their love and legacy continue to live on in the hearts of those they touched.

We would like to send our deepest appreciation of all those that reached out, gave hugs, sent flowers, meals, and prayers, and “thinking of you texts”. We have reconnected with old friends and made new ones. How precious you all are to us and we will be forever grateful for you. Thank you to the incredible staff at Dighton-Moore Funeral Service. God led us to you and we could not have asked for a more kind group of people to guide us through this difficult situation.
