Allen E. Taylor, 86, of Ponca City passed away peacefully Sunday morning, December 3, in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

Allen was born in Arkansas City, Kansas June 1, 1937, to Fern Gee Taylor & Samuel Taylor. He graduated from Ark City high school and received his accounting degree at Pittsburgh State. He worked for Conoco Phillips, Ponca City, for 33 years before his retirement. Allen & Betty Geurin were married in 1967 in Ponca City. After retirement Allen & Betty traveled extensively throughout the country in their RV. Recent summers were spent camping & jeeping the mountains of Colorado. Allen discovered his love of travel from his family trips to the Yellowstone with his family where the 4 kids rode in the back of the truck & slept in tents. He also enjoyed hunting trips to Nebraska and Colorado with his dad and brothers and many hours of hunting at “Grandpa’s River Home” on the Arkansas River near Silverdale. Allen & Betty enjoyed meeting family & friends at Wendy’s in Arkansas city for Tuesday lunches, started 20 years ago by his Aunt Emiline Pate, where there could be as many as 8-12 enjoying memories, burgers & fries.

Allen is preceded in death by his parents and sister and husband J. Elaine (Larry) Duncan. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty, brothers Gary (Nancy) Taylor of Arkansas City and Max (Mary) Taylor of Winfield. Also surviving is his sister-in-law Paula (Ken) Ivey of Fayetteville, along with several cousins, nephews and nieces. A Private family service will be held in the mausoleum at Fairview Cemetery in Fayetteville. Moore’s Chapel Funeral Home, 206 W. Center, Fayetteville, AR, 72701, is in charge of the service.
