In Loving Memory of Alan Eugene Young

Alan Eugene Young, a beloved son, husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend, began his journey on November 26, 1959, in Ponca City, OK, as the cherished child of Leroy and Barbara Jean (Dewberry) Young. Growing up in a family of three adoring sisters, Alan’s life was filled with love and devotion from the very beginning. He embarked on his educational journey at Garfield School, East Junior High, and Ponca City High School (Po-Hi), where he proudly graduated in 1978.

Alan’s life took a beautiful turn when he joined hands in matrimony with Denise Lorraine Tipton, the daughter of Joe and Grace Tipton. From their union, three wonderful children came into this world: Tomeka Chantell, Jeric Alan, and Tiara Lorraine.

Throughout his life, Alan wore many hats, including a dedicated stint at Conoco and later the proud owner of his own business, The Mail Station. His heart’s work extended beyond the realm of commerce; he established a nurturing haven for youth within the walls of the former Attucks School.

Relocating to Stillwater, OK, Alan and his family continued to nurture their children, and he pursued various career opportunities, lending his expertise to companies like Staples, Dollar General, and more, where he played a pivotal role in managing their receipt systems. Among his many passions, one shone brightly: his unwavering love for OSU Sports. Alan’s dedication knew no bounds as he contributed his time and energy to various OSU sports events, including football, basketball, tennis, and wrestling. His love for OSU Sports left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Alan is reunited in eternity with his beloved wife Denise, his parents, and his grandparents. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion in the hearts of his three cherished children and three loving sisters: Barbara Lee Young, Mazella Boulden, and Regina Smith. Additionally, he leaves behind a host of nieces Robin Leigh, Andrea Young, Nicole Stewart, and three great-nephews - Roman Leigh, Nicolas Swygert, and Aiden Young.

In his extended family, Alan is fondly remembered by his mother-in-law Grace Tipton, and his in-laws Tracy and Gordon Tipton, Dawn and Victor Hopkins, Randy Tipton, and Micah Tipton and many more relatives, including his multiple cousins scattered across the United States.

Alan Eugene Young’s memory will forever be etched in our hearts. His kindness, love, and unwavering commitment to family and community will continue to inspire all those whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the cherished memories we hold dear.
