Northern Oklahoma College has stayed busy this week with the preparation of three different events on their campus on Sat., April 1.

To kick off the morning, the Northern Oklahoma College Livestock Judging Team is hosting a judging contest at their Ag Barn in Tonkawa. For just $25 per team and $7 per individual, people in the surrounding communities are able to enter themselves and their livestock into the contest. They will be featuring 12 classes, including three market hogs, three led heifers, and Northern Oklahoma College’s best breeding and market sheep.

Northern Oklahoma College’s next e.vent is one that has been in the works for quite a while and has been awaited anxiously. The Northern Oklahoma College Alumni and Friends Reunion and Distinguished Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will open its doors at 4:30 pm. This ceremony is not only to celebrate the three distinguished alumni who are being awarded, but to celebrate former NOC students and support their alma mater.

“The Distinguished Alumni Award has been established to recognize the achievements of former students whose personal lives, professional achievements and community service exemplify the objectives of Northern Oklahoma College. This award is the Highest honor that Northern bestows upon an outstanding alumnus/a,” according to Northern Oklahoma College.

Following the alumni program, the Roustabouts will hold a benefit show at 7:30 pm. Tickets start out at $10 a person and for students and children under the age of 12, the tickets are $7. The Northern Oklahoma College Roustabouts are a contemporary music ensemble that performs music that ranges from current hits to classics. This impressive group of students dedicate their time and talent to entertaining and representing Northern.

Overall, Sat., April 1 is a great day to show support for the different branches of Northern Oklahoma College, whether it be during the Livestock Judging Contest, the Alumni Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony, or the Roustabouts Benefit Show.
