City Arts Ponca City Arts Association is holding their annual Summer Art Camp this week. Until Friday, these children, ages 6 through 12, have the opportunity to experience Ponca City’s longest running youth art camp. From learning about different art mediums to then putting that knowledge into practice, this five-day camp will not only be educational, but also incredibly fun. For their $175 tuition fee, these kids will be given not only the supplies they need throughout the week, but also a camp t-shirt, daily snacks and lunch, and a family fun day for the students and their family on the last day of camp.

Throughout the week these children are also going to be able to talk with local artists and even tour the art of Ponca City. These tours include not only the gorgeous new foxes that have popping up around town, but also the different murals in the area. On Friday, before the family fun day, the students’ art they created over the week will be displayed in the John McNeese Gallery in the City Central building.

City Arts’ mission statement is to dedicate their association to enriching the cultural life in the community by promoting, teaching, and nourishing the creation and appreciation of the visual arts. It is clear that they stay true to that dedication through events such as this. The people of City Arts are showing the children what art really is and nourishing their creativity. They are investing in the artistic future of the community through their love of education.

Every spot available for this years’ Summer Art Camp was filled, so keep an eye out early next year to enroll your children in this amazing program. You can find updates on what City Arts is up to on their Facebook page, and their website, pcarts.org, stays updated on new art in the community and projects they have going on.
