Community favorites beans and cornbread are the stars of Blackwell’s annual Top of Oklahoma Museum’s Bean Feed on May 23 from 11 am-1 pm. The menu includes beans, cornbread, dessert and a beverage for $10. Call-in orders will be delivered after 12:45 pm.

“Community support is vital for our museum,” said Melissa Hudson, director. “Our delicious lunch is a chance for fellowship and to renew Museum yearly memberships for those who want to add a little extra support.” Annual memberships are $10.

The museum is in the midst of a five-year revitalization program. Twothirds of the Museum now has an online inventory thanks to grants from the Oklahoma Historical Society.

The Museum’s club room is the site of the Bean Feed. The entrance to the club room has been refurbished with a barn quilt installation in memory of two Board members. “If you haven’t had a chance to see the new club room entrance, the bean feed is your chance to see this lovely art installation made possible by community donations,” said Hudson.

The museum is at 303 S Main in Blackwell.
