MILWAUKEE — The hits just kept coming. Not those hits. Unfortunately for the Cardinals, those hits are still increasingly elusive at key moments capable of swinging a game. The hits that have been abundant are the ones seemingly aimed at the Cardinals’ hopes for contending this season.

Tales from the Trails

Too Much Does life seem to be throwing more at you than you seem to possible be able to handle? 1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken hold of you but such as is common to man. But God is faithful; He will not suffer you to be tempted beyond that which ye are able to bear, but with the temptation will also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Burbank First Baptist Church News

Many times there appears to be very little happening at Burbank First Baptist. The church building usually is only occupied on Sunday and Wednesday. The Fellowship Hall may have occasionally have an activity schedule. There is much going on behind the limited church building usage. The church as a landline 918-648-5259 with an answering machine. Message will be answered as time permits. The Pastor has a cell phone 580-485-5721 to handle messaging and special requests. When people are unable to attend church because of illness or special family activities, the Pastor will try to make personal contact via his cell phone. When hospitalization is required in Tulsa, Fairfax, or Oklahoma City for an unknown period of time, the Pastor will personally visit a patient to pray for a speedy recovery. The Pastor and wife try to keep up with children’s sporting activities when they are notified of the events time. Many times special events require traveling to our larger cities to obtain supplies. The Pastor and wife again are usually asked to obtain them as soon as possible. The Pastor tries to call those who have not been to services for some time. He tries to make sure these contacts happen about every two weeks. When there is a need to schedule the Fellowship Hall for an activity, many will call the Pastor to confirm that the date is available. The church also has a very liberal policy for families who wish to borrow our table and chairs in the Fellowship Hall. Guess who takes care of confirming these requests. It has been my privilege to visit relatives of families regardless of church affiliation upon request. I have probably missed something but this is an attempt to inform people that the work of ministry is more than when services are scheduled. It takes a community of believers to show Christian love. Burbank First Baptist Church makes every effort to provide comfort and compassion to those who seek such. Check out our ever changing website www.burbankfirstbaptist.org.
