It is a quiet, sunny afternoon at Hospice of North Central Oklahoma (HONCO). The sun’s rays glide effortlessly into the office of Amanda Doran, bringing a needed warmth into the room while chilly temperatures linger outside. She is the CEO of the hospice, and as the only not-for-profit hospice in the region, she is tasked with moving the facility forward. She also serves as the image of the organization, putting a positive view of a facility for those facing their end-oflife journey. A board makes decisions about how patients should face the end of life, and what they do in the community, and she makes sure the organization moves forward on the best foot.
