Concerns, questions, and tensions mount around new OHP tribal tag enforcement
Last week, an Oklahoma Highway Patrol (OHP) trooper ticketed a tribal citizen with a current Otoe-Missouria Tribe license plate for failing to pay state taxes. The citizen was initially pulled over for speeding near Enid, before then being issued a $249 traffic citation for failing to pay state taxes on their motor vehicle, because they did not live on tribal land.
