Wildcat swimmers second in conference
FIVE PONCA CITY swimmers won all four of the events in which they competed Friday in the Oklahoma Big Seven Conference Swim Meet in Edmond. EDMOND -- The Ponca City High School swim team came away with a second-place finish at Friday’s Oklahoma Big 7 Conference swim meet in the Mitch Park pool.
Enid edged out Ponca City in both girls and boys competition. In girls, it was Enid 394 over Ponca City’s 319. Third was Putnam City Original with 276, Putnam City North, 163; Choctaw, 161; Putnam City West, 56; and Midwest City, 7.
In boys competition, Enid scored 465, Ponca City, 410; Putnam North, 228; Choctaw, 138; Putnam City Original, 105; Midwest City, 12 and Putnam West, 3.
Ponca City had five swimmers who finished first in all of their events. The group of five, included Jessalyn Carpenter, Timothy Crank, Kyle King, Mattie Shearer and Braden Stewart. Alyssa Sullivan also finished first in the 200-yard Freestyle event.
