Baseball Wildcats lose to Santa Fe

ENID -- The Ponca City WIldcats scored seven runs Thursday, but it was not enough as they lost to Edmond Santa Fe 11-7.

Santa Fe trailed Ponca City 3-0 going into the bottom of the third inning, but then put seven runs on the scoreboard to lead 7-3. They added four in the fourth to break the game wide open. Ponca City added four in the fifth.

Titan Bute started on the mound for Ponca City and pitched two and two-thirds innings. He allowed six hits and seven runs. Lance Arbona finished, pitching two and onethird innings. He gave up three hits and four runs.

Santa Fe outhit Ponca City 9-6. Grant Harmon and Teegan Hodgson each had two of the Ponca City hits. Hodgson had a double. Bute and Colton Jones each had one hit, with Bute driving home two runs. Jones had one RBI and Hodgson had one.

The loss drops Ponca City’s record to 4-13. Next on the schedule were a game Friday against Edmond Memorial and one Saturday against Mustang, both in Enid.
