William Gene Owen, age 48, of Shidler, Oklahoma passed away June 4, 2023, in Shidler, Oklahoma surrounded by his family.

William was born on April 27, 1975, in Hugoton, Kansas to Stephan and Saundra (Holifield) Owen. William was a 1995 graduate from Winfield High School in Winfield, KS. He loved spending time with his kids and his family and when he wasn’t working, he enjoyed hanging out with club members at the Mid-Kansas MVPA and the Shidler United Methodist Church. He loved to work with his hands, and he shined at his last job working as a Quality Assistant at Dorado Foods.

Survivors include: his mother, Saundra Harviston of Shidler, OK; and sisters, Aimee L. Owen of Shidler, OK, Erin R. Owen of Queens, NY, Afton Acton of Acworth, GA and Anna Estes of Skiatook, OK; and his children, Kaitlyn & Devin Ruyle of Overland Park, KS, Alesandra Moore-Owen of Lenexa, KS, Stephan Moore-Owen of Winfield, KS and Charity Moore-Owen of Winfield, KS.

William is preceded in death by his grandparents, Kenneth W. Owen, Ruth I. Owen, Barney G. Holifield and Thelma A. (Shafer) Holifield; father, Stephan W. Owen and step-father Charlie Harviston; sister Rachel Rulo; and his nephew, Wendall S. Sigler.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2 pm on the 10th of June 2023 at Shidler United Methodist Church, located at 100 S. WG Ward Ave., Shidler, OK 74652 with Pastor Troy Big Eagle officiating.
