Riley John Thompson left this Earth and joined his Lord and Savior in Heaven on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at the young age of 18.

Riley was born on March 10, 2003 in Ponca City to John Paul and Christina (Dilbeck) Thompson. Riley was lucky enough to become a big brother to Audrey in 2006 and then again to Graham in 2012. He was the most amazing and loving Big Brother any kid could’ve asked for.

Riley was raised in Fairfax and was proud to be a Woodland Cougar. He participated in Football, Baseball, and Cross Country. He took great pride carrying the American flag while leading his teammates onto the football field. He worked hard and graduated early with the class of 2020 but was always a 2021 senior in his heart and to his fellow classmates.

Riley’s hobbies included fishing with his friends and family, Golfing, Listening, and Singing to Granger Smith, Johnny Cash & Motley Crew. He loved history and was never afraid to let you know when you were wrong about the subject. He loved his family, friends, and ‘Merica.

Riley’s family and friends all described him as being a sweet, kindhearted, giving soul, who always wore a smile and wanted to help everyone he could. He was the best big brother and doted on his younger siblings. He went above and beyond to help his parents, especially during his mother’s illness, making sure she was always as comfortable as possible.

Riley had a kind soul. If there was someone who was being left out, he would be the first to ask them to join and made sure they felt included.

Riley is survived by his Parents, John and Christina, Sister Audrey, Brother Graham, Grandma Linda Thompson, and “Nanny” Rosemary Dilbeck, Great Uncle Jay (Melissa) Thompson, Uncles Orin (Malia) Thompson, Jimmy Dilbeck, Colton Dilbeck, and Tim Dilbeck. Aunt “Sissey” Shella Crabtree, numerous cousins, and friends who were dear to him.

He was preceded in death by his Great Grandparents Ralph Graham, and Hazel Guthrie. Grandpa Larry Thompson, and Great Uncle Steve Graham.

Funeral Service will be 10a.m., Tuesday, May 25th at the First Christian Church, Fairfax with Johnny Wagoner officiating. Burial will immediately follow in the Fairfax City Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jacob Brackett, Nathan Bouchard, Tre Fish, Jake Mashburn, Ben Lockett, Brett Graham, and Dougan Damron. Honorary Pallbearers are Mason Thompson, Austin Thompson, Jimmy Dilbeck, Nate Lockert, Trey Reese, Luke Fisher, Jake Kennedy, Ethan Fessler, and Jake Marsh.

Show kindness, an openness to talk, and more importantly to listen, to see, to hear without judgment. If only to save one family from the pain and anguish of losing a loved one through bringing awareness to this tragic and senseless loss of life, our beloved Riley’s death will not be in vain. We cannot afford to lose another life.
