Mary Castillo, 79, of Ponca City, OK, left this life on July 27, 2023, in Ponca City, OK. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 11, 2023, at Trout Funeral Home Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction Trout Funeral Home & Crematory, 505 W. Grand Ave, Ponca City, OK, 74601.

Mary was born on January 16, 1944, in Muskegon, MI, to her parents, Felix and Paula (Martinez) Arizola. She was raised in Wichita Falls, Texas, along with her 11 siblings. While growing up in Wichita Falls, she learned to read, write, and speak English from a couple of sweet ladies who were Christians. They used the Bible to help Mary learn. Because of this, Mary learned about Jesus and clung to her faith like it was all she had. After growing up in Wichita Falls, she moved to Burbank, OK, with other family members to start a new and fresh life. From there, she did her best to raise her kids in the faith, and because of her, many of her family were raised to know Christ and His abundant love for each of them.

Though Mary had a tough upbringing, she didn’t let that alter who she was. She learned from it and did her best to not let her kids and grandchildren have the same upbringing. She was a fighter, and a very strong lover. She raised many kids that weren’t her own, yet she did it with love and consistency. She was always praying, teaching the Bible, and giving more than she had. Mary was a kind and humble woman who truly showed what it was like to live a life that wasn’t for herself. She was always willing to cook and welcome anyone and everyone to her table of home-cooked meals. Never using measurements, she always made her food with love and used just the right amount, usually saying “Use however much your ancestors tell you”. Mary loved well, all were always welcome in her little home. Mary only brought good things to this world and truly couldn’t have been any sweeter than she already was.

Mary is survived by: siblings, Jessie Arizola, Virginia Arizola, Jose Escobedo, and Felix Arizola; brother- in-law, Junior Godfrey; children, Jose Perales, Jr., Coreina Hernandez; niece and Nephew, Polly McBride and Junior Godfrey and their families, as well as many other nieces and nephews; grandchildren, “Ines” Martinez, Severino Roque, Margarette Pappan, Kaylen Gallardo, Rudy Rockett III, Emilio Avitia, Mario Avitia, Sandi Rivera, Roxanne Perales, Naomi Surita, Samantha Perales, Ovidio Garcia, Jr., Nicholas Garcia and many others, as well as great-grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by: her siblings; Minnie Godfrey, Archie Arizola, Israel Arizola, Domingo Arizola, Paul Arizola, Isais Arizola, and Elias Arizola; her daughters, Lucy Arizola, Rosa Rockett, and Angelina Arizola; nephew, Jeano Godfrey; sons-in-law, Ovidio Garcia andRudy Rockett Jr. and her parents.
