Longtime resident of Ponca City, Faye Holman Waldron, age 91, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2020 to be her Lord and Savior.

Faye was born on March 30, 1929 in Geuda Springs, Kansas to Paul Holman and Martha Brooks Holman. She grew up near her grandparent’s farm and later they moved to a farm north of Winfield, Kansas. Faye was the youngest of four girls. She graduated from Winfield High School in May 1946.

Faye met her husband, Robert D. Waldron, during her senior year after he returned home from WWII. They were married in Winfield on June 16, 1946. They moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma where Robert attended Oklahoma A&M College. After college they moved to Ponca City, Oklahoma where their four children, Terry, Cathy, Paul and Sheri were born and raised. They enjoyed 67 years of marriage.

Faye was a member of Woodlands Christian Church, Conestoga Campers, Valley View Extension Homemakers and Pioneer Area Quilters Guild. She enjoyed her years she sold real estate.

Faye especially loved reading and enjoyed making crafts and quilting. She also enjoyed playing cards and games and laughing with her family and friends. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and easygoing personality.

Faye and Robert enjoyed many years of going on camping trips in their RV. They went to South Texas for the winter months for 20 years. They made many wonderful, lifelong friends through all their camping journeys.

Survivors include Terry and wife Lynette Waldron of Tulsa, Oklahoma; Cathy and husband Troy Lester of Ponca City, Oklahoma; Paul Waldron of Ponca City, Oklahoma and Sheri Waldron of Del City, Oklahoma; 10 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband Robert, daughter-in-law Greta, her parents and four sisters.

Being respectful of the COVID-19 pandemic, Faye’s family will celebrate her life with a private family memorial graveside service at Highland Cemetery in Winfield, Kansas. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial donations be made to Woodlands Christian Church of Humanity Hospice.
