On Sunday Jan 19, 2020 Bert Allen Pruett, loving husband, father, Papa and friend too many, passed away after a brief battle with cancer. At the age of 68.

Bert was born May 8, 1951 in Ponca City, to Albert Allen Pruett and Ruby Eileen Mendenhall. He was raised in a very close family, always spending time with his Grandparents and cousins (which there are LOTS). Camping, fishing, and playing music with his Grandpa Pruett.

Bert attended Ponca City and Newkirk schools. He graduated high school while serving in the Navy.

Bert started his life time love of music and playing the guitar at the early age of 8, trying to keep up with his Grandpa Pruett’s fiddle. At the age of 14 he started to go to all the local beer joints around Ponca and Newkirk being “chaperoned” by his great friends “Cookie, Louie, Jim, & Lee” (not sure the names of all the rest of the chaperons). And that’s all it took, he was hooked on music. At 16 he started his bands playing with many local Ponca City and Billings, Mt musicians .They traveled all over the States and Canada. He made music his life time career, and was currently playing at “Back to Sighs’ Bar “ He loved to see all his friends and family dancing and enjoying his music. He had the most beautiful voice and could sing anything. No one ever got tired of listening to him.

Bert was also a very skilled carpenter. Along with his right hand man “Cindy”, they remodeled many homes in Ponca City and Billings Mt.

On July 3rd, 1987 he married his true love, soul mate, best friend, Cindy, in Billings Mt. There they started their family. Luke, Amy, and Emily and Travis and Mathew Pruett from Bert’s first marriage.

Bert loved to smoke food and have “cook outs”. He loved camping, fishing, and setting by a fire. His family was his life. He enjoyed and loved them all very much. He was blessed with 13 Grandchildren Faith, Hope And Harmony (twin girls due in April), Promise, Mary, Mylaya, Xayvier, Albert, Ay’riel, Sebastian, Charlette, Logan, and Haylee.
