Kendra Ladner has been selected as the Community Health Foundation’s May Healthcare Professional of the Month. Kendra is a physical therapist with Alliance Oklahoma Home Health North Central. Her nominator said, “I am nominating Kendra because she has always gone above and beyond for her patients. As a home health physical therapist, Kendra has patients all over northern Oklahoma. Many, after having her once, request her for repeat therapy. She always has a smile on her face and treats her patients with kindness and respect while helping get them back to preinjury status. When not treating patients, Kendra can be found helping out the Charity Angels measuring people for Amtrykes.”

Kendra was born and raised in Ponca City. After graduating from high school, she obtained an Associates in Science from NOC and then began physical therapy school at OU and graduated in 1999. Kendra then began work at the hospital in Ponca City as a licensed physical therapist where she worked for 21 years. One year ago, Kendra left her position at Alliance-Health Ponca City for a position with Alliance Oklahoma Home Health. Her responsibilities as a physical therapist are very similar now, but she provides services in patients’ homes. She cares for patients after surgeries, after cardiac incidents, and patients needing assistance with strength or balance, and more. Kendra works with these individuals in their home environments to adapt at getting around their homes and to improve their abilities in performing activities of daily living. She loves this new position as she travels to many rural communities within a 50-mile radius of Ponca City to provide services to homebound individuals or those who might have a difficult time traveling or getting to a facility for treatment. Kendra loves being a physical therapist because she is able to help people get better and get back to normal activities after a surgery, injury, or health issue.

Kendra spends most of her free time with her family, husband Zac Ladner, and her two sons Brady and Riley. Kendra loves going to their school activities and supporting them in all that they do. Her oldest son, Brady, graduated from high school last year and will soon be finishing technical school with the Air National Guard.

Congratulations to Kendra Ladner! If you are interested in nominating an outstanding healthcare professional in Kay County from any healthcare specialty, the Community Health Foundation would love to hear about your nominee. A nomination form is available on the Foundation website at chfofpc.org and each monthly winner will be awarded with $100 in Ponca City Chamber Bucks.
