On Sat., June 10, Ponca City Noon Lions Club partnered with the Ponca City Fire Fighters Union for a Sock Hop Party. The Ponca City Parks and Recreation department allowed them to use the Unity Gym for the festivities and local businesses Ponca City Discount Foods, Farha, Was-Mart, and both Homeland locations donated food for the cause.

The Sock Hop Party was a dance event where manners of the community with disabilities and their families had the opportunity to experience dancing, food, 50’s style clothing, and music. They had decorations to match the time and played music from the era as well. Those in attendance seemed to be enjoying themselves whether they were dancing to the music or conversing over the food.

After the event was finished, the Noon Lions and the Ponca City Fire Fighters Union were able to fill the Sean Anderson Blessing Box on Grand for those in need.
