This week’s cat of the week is Clarence, the 3 year old domestic shorthair that has captured the hearts of many at Northern Oklahoma Humane Society. Clarence has been at NOKHS since the end of January and was brought in as an owner surrender. He is waiting for his second chance at a forever home. Clarence stood out because of his loving and gentle personality. Unlike many cats at NOKHS, Clarence has never met a stranger and is the kind of cat that is pressing his face up against the kennel trying to get your attention. Clarence is truly the perfect cat. He loves people and, while he can be weary in new environments, he adjusts very quickly to many situations. Unfortunately, Clarence has been diagnosed as FIV+ which is an immunodeficiency virus. Cats infected with this will have symptoms of recurrent illnesses such as runny nose or sneezing, inflammations of the eyes or skin, and more. There is no true cure for FIV and it will be something that Clarence will have for the rest of his life. Regardless of his condition, Clarence needs a family and a home. Because of his condition, it is safer if Clarence is an only cat to minimize the risk of this virus spreading. Clarence is so incredibly sweet and loving. His greatest wish is to have a family he can love and be loved by.

This week’s dog of the week is Miracle. Miracle is a 2 year old medium mixed breed that has been brought back to the humane society, but is still hopeful. Miracle is such a fitting name for this dog, because after being given the chance at a family and having it taken away from her, she is still so happy. Miracle is super playful. She loves squeaky toys, balls, ropes, or any other toy she can get her paws on. Often when given attention, miracle tends to get the zoomies to show people just how excited she is to meet them. That being said, Miracle also really loves to be a couch potato. She is the perfect mix of both playful and relaxed. Because of her extreme treat drive, MIracle would more than likely be very easy to train and currently knows some basic commands. Miracle loves everything that moves. From cats to other dogs and people, Miracle loves them all and would be an excellent family dog. Give this sweet girl a chance and she will make sure you never regret it.
