The 9th Annual Gathering of Voices was held at 7 Clans Paradise Casino in Red Rock, Oklahoma on Thursday, April 6. This event focused on addressing sexual assault in Indian Country and was hosted by 6 Nations and Relatives, and sponsored by the Native Alliance Against Violence (NAAV). Pcitured is speaker Sarah Deer J.D., Justice Deer is is a citizen of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. She is currently a Distinguished Professor at the University of Kansas and Chief Justice for the Prairie Island Indian Community Court of Appeals.
