The Pioneer Woman Statue, we see her every day. She stands boldly on a pyramid of cut stone with a young boy. Her name is Confident and is a reminder of the challenges woman faced in the new territory; she braved the dangers and hardships every day while taking care of family needs. Ernest Whitworth Marland, was an oilman, philanthropist, US Congressman and our tenth governor of Oklahoma.

Mr. Marland conceived the idea to honor and recognize woman who are important to the growth of the pioneer days. She is relevant; woman still brave dangers, hardships and take care of family needs. The Pioneer Woman Statue, Confident, celebrated her 90th year since the unveiling on April 22, 1930.

The Friends of the Pioneer Woman Museum and Statue have developed The Friends of the Pioneer Woman Museum and Statue Recipe Cook Book to Commemorate the 90th Anniversary. The Pioneer Woman Museum and Statue Recipe Cook Book includes wonderful vintage photos of the Pioneer Woman Statue, the artist, Bryant Baker and several special events.

In addition to the vintage photos, information, such as, a time line, the 12 artists and over 280 great family recipes. The first 90 Pioneer Woman Museum and Statue Cook Books will have a gold seal and be numbered. The Pioneer Woman Museum and Statue Cook Book commemorating the 90th Anniversary will be available for sale starting Friday, May 1st at the Pioneer Woman Museum 701 Monument Road. Open from Tuesday to Saturday 10:00am to 5:00pm. The phone number is 580.765.6108 . The cost is $20.00 for each cookbook. All proceeds benefit education programs and maintance.
