Hospice of North Central Oklahoma employees celebrate huge milestones

Hospice of North Central Oklahoma is celebrating two amazing employees who have given many years of service to the mission of hospice. Mary Meyers started working at Hospice of North Central Oklahoma on February 18, 2008 and recently celebrated 15 years. She was hired on as a Medical Biller but as Mary proved her hard work ethic and attention to detail additional responsibilities were given to her such as completing EMR conversions, of which she has done 4 in her time at hospice. She also took on the task of facilitating the IT/Computer needs as they are constantly changing with destops, laptops and IPADs. In addition, she was given the role of Privacy and Security Officer. In 2018, she was promoted to Chief Business Officer all while continuing to serve as Privacy/Security Officer and IT/Computer tasks. Wendy Stobbe, CEO of Hospice of North Central Oklahoma states, “Mary is an expert on billing, Medicare and hospice regulations. She has one of the hardest working persons I have ever worked with and she cares about the work she does.” When asked what her favorite part of her job is, Meyers replied, “Working with a wonderful staff. This is the most loving and compassionate group of people. I am proud of our mission and those who work with these families every day.” Meyers also states, “I have a lot of memories. I have worked with a lot of different personalities and have loved them all.”

PCDA leases airport hangar to California company

April 13, 2023 – This morning the Ponca City Development Authority (PCDA) Board of Trustees approved an agreement with NextGen Aviation Services, L.L.C., to lease a 30,000 square foot hangar owned by PCDA at Ponca City Municipal Airport. The lease begins immediately and will allow the company to establish a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operation at the airport.

Tonkawa Film Festival 2023 festival winners

The fourth annual Tonkawa Film Festival has wrapped with this year featuring a record number of filmmakers from across the country and internationally. This year’s selections include 35 short films, including seven international films, across six different genres including drama, comedy, horror, documentary, animation and music videos.

Sherron named inductee to the Southwestern College Business Hall of Fame

Daniel L Sherron has been named a 2023 inductee to the Southwestern College Business Hall of Fame, in a program set for Saturday, April 22, 2023 beginning with an 8:30 AM reception and ceremony in the Richardson Performing Arts Center on the college’s Winfield, KS campus. During the presentation, plaques will be unveiled featuring the inductees as they will hang in the Leaders in Service Hall of Fame. Daniel is a 2015 and 2017 graduate of Southwestern College after completing undergraduate degree programs in both Healthcare Administration and Human Resource Development and graduate studies earning a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. A native of North Central Oklahoma, Daniel was reared in Newkirk, Oklahoma, graduating with honors in 2003, but currently resides in Ponca City, Oklahoma. He is also a 2013 graduate of Northern Oklahoma College having earned an Associate of Science degree in General Studies.
