Aug. 14—Oklahoma State sold its entire allotment of 49,555 football season tickets, including club, suite and students tickets, the university announced Monday. The last time this happened was the 2013 season.

Kansas City Royals outfielder Dairon Blanco didn’t start Monday’s game, but he ended up making the biggest play of the night. Blanco laid down a sacrifice bunt to drive home the winning run as the Royals beat the Seattle Mariners 7-6 at Kauffman Stadium.

CUSHING -- The Ponca City Lady Cats opened the 2023 season Thursday with a pair of wins. Playing in the Cushing Tournament, the Lady Cats came from behind to defeat Henryetta 6-5 and then defeated Blackwell 7-1 in the second game.
