JENKS-- The Ponca City High School swim team competed in the Class 6A State Swim meet Wednesday and Thursday in Jenks. The boys team finished in 13th place while the girls came in with a 22nd place finish.

For the boys Max Engster earned 11 points for the Wildcats finishing 11th in the 100 Freestyle event and 12th in the 50 Freestyle. He was awarded six points for his 100 Freestyle effort and 5 points for the 50 Freestyle.

The rest of the boys points were earned by two relay teams. The 200 Freestyle relay team finished seventh and earned 24 points. Swimming on this relay team were Max Engster, Kyle King, Hayden Jones and Timothy Crank. The Ponca City 400 Freestyle Relay team finished 12th and earned 10 points for its effort. Swimming on this team were Timothy Crank, Kyle King, Tanner Estes and Max Engster.

Simone Villarruel earned all 12 of the girls' points. She was 11th in the 50 Freestyle and 11th in the 100 Backstroke, earning six points for each event.

Jenks won boy the Classs 6A state team titles. The Jenks boys earned 395 points topping second place Bixby by 210 points. In the girls competition, Jenks finished in the top spot with 326 points to second place Edmond North's 233.
