MENA, Arkansas -- Rich Mountain scored a goal late in the first half and two in the second half to defeat the Northern Oklahoma College Maverick men’s soccer 3-1 on Sunday at Rich Mountain (AR).

The loss dropped the Mavs to 1-7-2 on the year and 0-4-1 in conference play.

Ryan Doig, a freshman from Australia, scored a late goal for the Mavs assisted by Kevin Ayala for the Mavs lone goal.

“It was another frustrating game for so many reasons,” said coach Michael Duroy. “Injuries and other issues have led to us to play guys that are not ready to play at this level and out of position. It’s been tough with all the injuries and it’s on us to coach better and try to get these guys organized, and then the players have to execute. We have absolutely no margin for error.”

NOC hosts Murray State at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28.
