The first week of spring football practice for the Ponca City Wildcats is complete, and Head Coach Scott Harmon is upbeat about what he saw during the week.

“I am pleased at where we are as of now,” he said. “We have a lot of new faces and we are installing a new offense. Defensively, I think we have a chance to be really good, if we keep progressing.”

The Wildcats have their sights set on earning a spot in the Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association Class 6AII playoffs. They have a lot of different teams in their district.

This week will see the conclusion of the two-week practice session. The official start of the fall season will be Aug. 8 when limited practice will begin.

The spring session will conclude Friday (May 27) at 6 p.m. with a controlled scrimmage.

“I look forward to seeing what our kids look like with a few folks in the stands,” Harmon said.
