Dear Annie: I’m a 35-yearold woman with no children who has been happily single for over two years, keeping to myself and not dating on purpose. Recently, I had to attend an event, and I was approached by a very pleasant man who is about four years younger than me. He seems very intelligent, wellspoken and is fairly attractive. He asked me out on a date, and we had a nice time together, talking well into the evening.

News stories have reported that despite the Supreme Court’s decision in cases brought against Harvard and the University of North Carolina, those and other selective schools still want to employ racial quotas and preferences in admissions.

Last Tuesday a federal judge banned communications between large parts of the federal government and social media platforms. The case was brought by two Republican attorneys general and several individuals to allege that the government has unconstitutionally censored online speech from conservatives.

Anyone who hates the phrase “deep state” should ponder how it can be defined by anonymous leaking from inside the government. The media elite love to try to run the country between elections, especially as they use scandals to damage Republican candidates for president.

Dear Annie: “Torn Between Passion and Stability” reminds me of my own story. As a college freshman, I studied accounting, which seemed the destiny of many young men like me. I found it boring and totally uninspiring. However, I felt locked into this career path because of family pressure to study “business” and be successful.

Why does Elon Musk have to be the center of everyone’s attention every day? Has he no hobbies? Is running an industrial empire less than a full-time job? Perhaps he’s just lonely. Perhaps social media is not filling the need for human companionship as many a depressed adolescent can explain.
