Dear Annie

Body
Dear Annie: I’m frustrated with my sister-in-law and the way that she plans the holidays that she hosts or organizes. Generally, what happens is that she will reach out to the family to see what will work for everyone. We’ll make any other plans around the agreedupon plan. Then, closer to the holiday, my sister-in-law will change the plans saying that the new plans work better for her family. Most often the new plans conflict with other plans that we’ve made.

Dear Annie: A few weeks ago, a friend and I had a trip to Costco planned. The night before, I fell in my house and wasn’t sure if I sprained or broke my hand in the wee hours. I couldn’t make up my mind whether I should go to urgent care in the morning or the ER that night. I was in pain, but it wasn’t killing me, so I decided to reevaluate it in the morning. I was hurting enough in the morning to decide to go.

Ain’t Budging: Attacked from The Left on Israel, Biden Stands His Ground

Taking the podium at an event in Boston last Tuesday, President Joe Biden wasted no time taking aim at a leading progressive’s hemming and hawing when asked to condemn Hamas’ mass rape of Israeli women on Oct. 7. Two days earlier, Democratic Rep. Pramila Jayapal had tried to duck journalist Dana Bash’s questioning about Hamas’ atrocities, which included rapes so violent that they broke women’s pelvic bones before Hamas gunmen shot their victims in the genitals and the head.

Dear Annie: I’m 48 years old. I’ve been a single mom since I had my first kid -- in other words, since forever. I’ve never really had healthy relationships with men. I’m way too trusting and just want love so badly. A few months ago, I accidentally texted a man I knew from high school. We ended up striking up a conversation, texting back and forth for a few days. Then he called me a couple of times, and we had long talks. We became friends on Facebook. I was so interested, as he seemed like a very good man: 20-year veteran, retired, single father, hard worker. I could tell that family was important to him. And he was so good-looking. After two months of chatting back and forth, I asked to meet him. He said, “Maybe after some more time.”
