There seems to be at least one impenetrable barrier connected to this country’s southwest border. It is the one that stands between Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas and an accurate assessment of what is actually happening there.

I have spent several days reading coverage of the recent Alabama Supreme Court ruling that recognized extrauterine embyros as children. Then I read the court’s actual decision and found that the two — the coverage and the ruling — have almost nothing in common.

Put up or shut up. That’s the message that Oklahomans ought to be sending to their Republican senators, who purport to be horrified and appalled by the anti-LGBTQ rhetoric spewed by one of their own.

Dear Annie: This is a tough situation and I’m at a loss for what to do next. First, I’ve been battling a worsening depression for a few years now. I was 34 when I lost my mom on Memorial Day of 2022 and then my dad to a broken heart the next year. After many trials and tribulations through life, I brought myself slightly out of my depression to start working at Walmart, where I met who I thought was the man of my dreams.
