A business meeting was held in the home of Billie Huddleston, conducted by president Donna Rubio. Minutes were read and approved.

Donna reported City Council announced that no dues were due from chapters this year and that all assignments for City COuncil events this past year are still in place for the coming year. Our chapter presented the idea of a state convention to be held next summer in Ponca City if facilities can be found to accommodate.

Treasurer’s report was given and members were reminded that chapter dues are due this month.

Under Service projects for the coming year a flyer was passed around from Community Health Foundation and suggestions were given for Domestic Violence and Senior Citizens Center donations.

Publicity has been in paper. Book Review was given by Donna on Envoy for chapters.

The traveling basket was brought by Terri Buesing and given to Carolyn Chanslor.

Social to be held the next Sunday at Robin Cnosssen’s home. An Ice Cream Social with members bringing cookies, brownies and toppings.

Program was given by Virginia Starks on “Women and Heart Disease.” She made several points for members to consider such as gender differences from men. Men seldom survive a first heart attack. Women experience signs about 10 years later than men. Warning signs include:

1. Uncomfortable pressure, fullness, squeezing or pain spreading across the center of chest that last more than a few minutes.

2. Pain that spreads down the left shoulder, arm or up into the neck or jaw.

3. Severe pain, dizziness, fainting, sweating, nausea, shortness of breath.

Call 911 or nearest ambulance service when symptoms first appear.

Discussion followed about stroke as one member had experienced a stroke a few years ago and she told of her experience.

Donna passed pictures of her vist to DC that were taken right after 9-11. Discussion followed aobut those at Pentagon and what they experienced as she visited with people who were there at the time.

Dessert was served by hostess, BIllie, and meeting was close with Mizpah.
